Since the demolition of her house in March, Martha LaFleur has temporarily relocated to another Habitat house. The site on County Line Road in Jensen Beach has been surveyed, the pad for the new house marked, fill dirt was delivered, and volunteers prepared the foundation footers for the slab in April. Building the concrete block shell of the 3 bedroom, 2 bath home will continue in May.
On Saturday April 26th, the Men's club participated in the Apostle Build Project. Their labor is a part of St. Luke's commitment to be one of the "Apostle's" in the Habitat for Humanity Apostle Build project. Several components make up this mission: funding, hourly labor, work lunches, and prayers.
There will be steady work opportunities throughout the summer (framing, roofing, painting, etc). Remember that not just physical work is required ... baked goods and a cheering section can fuel and support the workers, keeping the spirit alive. The Apostle Build is a local mission where everyone at St. Luke's can participate and help their Martin County "neighbors" in a tangible way.

Habitat for Humanity is a Christian ministry that invites people of all faiths and no faith to join its mission to build and renovate simple, decent, affordable houses for local families who would not otherwise have that chance.
