LAHIA Help Needed
LAHIA is a ministry to people who are homeless and needy in Martin County. For many years, St. Luke’s Episcopal Church has joined with other churches in our community to support this ministry by providing food and other resources to LAHIA, which serves meals daily and provides other services as needed. Our feeding program has provided sandwiches and sandwich ingredients weekly, along with cooking staples such as eggs, sugar, flour, cooking oil, and coffee. We are also providing pop-top cans of meat and vegetables, soup, and baked beans which LAHIA has requested be included in to-go bags of food distributed on Saturdays since LAHIA serves no meals on Sundays.
St. Luke’s is proud to join with our neighbors in supporting LAHIA. To continue our food ministry, volunteers are needed to contribute regularly by providing food: preferably, one day each month during a week of their choosing. LAHIA also seeks volunteers for cleaning duties, driving, and other services. Cash donations are always welcome.
If you wish to join St. Lukes Food Ministry to LAHIA and would like additional information, please contact the church office (772-286-5455) and feel free to access the organization’s website at lahia.org.
